Research Professional

Every University of Northampton (UoN) academic has the opportunity to create a  Research Professional account which can assist you in locating suitable funding for your research project. Once signed up to this service you have the facility to create a tailored weekly alert system which will inform you of new opportunities in your area of expertise. You can sign-up online if you are on campus, or alternatively contact us and we will set-up an account for you.

Research Professional have produced some user-friendly guides to assist you in using this service including;

Quick Start Guide: Explains to users their first steps with the website, from creating an account to searching for content and setting up email alerts, all in the space of a single page.

User Guide: More detailed information covering all the key aspects of using ResearchProfessional.

Additionally, Research Professional run a series of online training broadcasts aimed at introducing users to the basics of creating and configuring their accounts on ResearchProfessional.  They hold monthly sessions, covering everything you need to get started with ResearchProfessional.  The broadcast sessions  run for no more than 60 minutes, with the opportunity to ask questions via text chat.  Each session covers:

  • Self registration and logging in
  • Building searches
  • Setting personalised alerts
  • Saving and bookmarking items
  • Subscribing to news alerts
  • Configuring your personal profile

Each session runs between 10.00am and 11.00am (UK) on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

These sessions are totally free of charge for UoN academics and can help you make the most of this useful resource tool.
