Research Funding Opportunities – Northampton Business School

Information on  current  calls with no deadlines is available on the RSBO web pages

10 April 2013:  British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research GrantsTravel for research purposes; Directed grants for individual investigators; Networking/collaboration; Hosting visits; Travel to conferences, meetings etc.  All applications should demonstrate that funds are sought for a clearly defined, discrete piece of research with an identifiable outcome. Applications for individual and collaborative projects are equally welcome. International groups of scholars are eligible to apply, provided the lead applicant is a UK-based scholar. Grants are tenable for up to 24 months and are worth between £500 and £10,000.

16 May 2013:  Leverhulme Trust, Philip Leverhulme Prizes – These recognise and facilitate the work of outstanding young research scholars or practitioners of proven achievement, who have made and continue to make original and significant contributions. Prizes are worth £70,000 for a period of two to three years.

17 May 2013Academy of Marketing, Research Funding – Proposals can cover any marketing topic under the 2013 Academy of Marketing research initiative funding scheme. The research must be completed for presentation at the July 2014 Academy of Marketing conference in Bournemouth. A sum equal to the conference fee for one member of each successful application to attend the 2014 conference will be provided in addition to the amount of funding requested. Funding is worth up to £2,000.

31 May 2013British Council, UGC-UKIERI Thematic Partnerships – These facilitate collaborations between faculties and researchers, and enable registered PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in India and the UK to undertake short-term visits to work on research projects. Funds are available for partnerships of up to two years in duration and provide a maximum of £60,000 equivalent in INR.

15 June 2013 (forecast):  Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Research and Knowledge Exchange Fund Grants  These grants aim to support new research activities from academics, third sector organisations, consultants and practitioners with the ambition of drawing together and generating an entrepreneurial community of practice to facilitate knowledge exchange and transfer. Capacity building through collaborations between experienced and early career researchers and applications presented as pilot studies are encouraged.

14 August 2013:  14 August 2013:  Marie Curie Individual FellowshipsThis covers the Intra-European Fellowships (IEF), International Incoming Fellowships (IIF) and International Outgoing Fellowships (IOF).

18 October 2013 (forecast):  ESRC, ESRC/Hong Kong Bilateral Projects – The Economic and Social Research Council, in collaboration with the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, invites applications for its collaborative projects programme.  Projects must involve integrated collaboration between the UK and Hong Kong partners. Projects must have well identified joint working, demonstrating clearly the added value of the collaboration. They must demonstrate distinctive, cross-country aspects, where both sides of the research team provide necessary local expertise. Proposals should be submitted by UK partners on behalf of all collaborators.
