This post provides information on the latest funding opportunities for your School. You will still be able to conduct your own searches via Grantfinder in the usual way or contact the RSB Office and we will assist you.

Recently opened

The Erasmus+ programme for 2014-2020 has been launched. Part of Horizon2020, it aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernising Education, Training, and Youth work. The seven year programme will have a budget of €14.7 billion; a 40% increase compared to current spending levels, reflecting the EU’s commitment to investing in these areas.

Upcoming deadlines

The application deadlines for the following funds are approaching:

  • 8 May 2014: Leverhulme Trust, Major Research Fellowships. Fellowship awards to enable well-established researchers in the UK to devote themselves to a single project of outstanding originality and significance appropriate for a period of concentrated research, capable of completion within the duration of two to three years. Fellowships are available in all fields of the Humanities or Social Sciences
  • 14 May 2014Leverhulme Trust, Philip Leverhulme Prizesrecognise the achievement of early career researchers whose work has already attracted international recognition and whose future career is exceptionally promising. The prize scheme makes up to thirty awards of £100,000 a year, across a range of academic disciplines.  For the 2014 competition the selected subject areas are: Biological Sciences; History; Law; Mathematics and Statistics; Philosophy and Theology; Sociology and Social Policy.  The disciplines selected are intentionally broad, and nominations will be considered irrespective of a nominee’s departmental affiliation.
