Lynda online learning… for researchers?
The University of Northampton subscribes to a bank of online learning resources called Lynda. Lynda features over 5,000 on-demand training courses on a variety of different business, technical and creative topics. Lynda is particularly useful when it comes to learning software so you will find courses on Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word, and other software such as Nvivo, SPSS and R Programming. In addition to this you can also find courses on typical transferable skills – successful presentations, communication skills, time and project management, critical thinking and building resilience, all subjects relevant to you as researchers.Trawling through 5,000 courses is no fun! So we have put together a playlist of resources for postgraduate researchers as a starting point . You can save this playlist and add other Lynda resources that you find useful. Please share anything you find useful with Simone, then she may add it to the ‘researchers’ playlist.
To access Lynda go to https://www.lynda.com and choose ‘sign in’. Choose ‘sign in with your organization portal’ and enter ‘northampton.ac.uk’ into the box. You will then need to sign in using your UoN login. Once you have done this you can click on the link here for the playlist of resources. If you would like to save this playlist as your own, just click on ‘copy’. There are Lynda apps for Android and IoS if you prefer to access Lynda this way.
