School of Health lunchtime seminar on 13th February

The UN School of Health, in association with NHS Northamptonshire, presents a lunchtime seminar entitled
“The influence of acute and chronic tissue loading on muscle-tendon stiffness”, presented by Dr Anthony Kay.

The seminar will run from 1-2pm on Wednesday 13th February at Sunley Conference Centre, University of Northampton, Park Campus.Stiffness of the muscle-tendon complex (MTC) can influence characteristics important to performance and injury including joint flexibility, force production, muscle damage and running economy. In this seminar, Dr Anthony Kay will present the findings of research currently being conducted at Northampton focussing on interventions designed to influence stiffness.

Dr Kay is an Associate Professor in Biomechanics within The University of Northampton’s School of Health. He has extensive experience of conducting, supervising, presenting and publishing research examining mechanical properties and neuromuscular activity of the MTC.
