The International School of Moscow is looking for post graduates who might be interested in a gap year experience as Teaching Assistants at our school. We would like to advertise the opportunities we are offering among the students of your institution, who might be particularly interested in living and working in Moscow. The International School of Moscow is a member of the British Schools Foundation, an organisation with schools in Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Moscow, Kuala Lumpur, Spain and Brazil whose aim is to offer an excellent standard of British education to International students. We are seeking to recruit teaching assistants who are native English speakers, with recent experience of education in the UK, who have a strong academic background and are able to offer enthusiasm and commitment to our school. We also encourage students with particular strengths in languages and music to apply as these are key areas for development within the school. ESRC announces new research data policy
Early last week the Economic and Social Research Council published a new research data policy. Aligned with the RCUK Common Principles on Data Sharing, the policy outlines the obligations of ESRC grant holders and their institutions with respect to the collection, management and re-use of research data. A specific requirement is that grant holders should “generate scientifically robust data ready for further re-use” (ESRC).

Masters in Clinical Research

The School of Health are now recruiting to the next intake of their Masters in Clinical Research programme. This course is an exciting opportunity for nurses and allied health care professionals in clinical practice to develop their career as a clinical academic. It forms the masters step on the clinical academic pathway and as its focus is on clinically based research it is applicable to a wide range of clinical specialisms.
The next intake for this part time programme is in October 2015. Closing date for applications is Friday 29th May 2015 and interviews will be held on 16th, 17th and 18th June 2015. Research methods training from the NRCM
The National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM) run a varied programme of workshops for research students and staff. Workshops coming up include Designing and implementing mobile web surveys, ‘Missing data’ in qualitative research: problems and responses, Advanced methodologies in researching families and relationships. Exciting Scholarship News for Masters Students at 78 Derngate Event!
On Wednesday 18th March, English staff, current MA and PhD students and prospective MA students gathered for a special event at 78 Derngate, Northampton. Courtesy of the School of The Arts, staff and students were treated to a tour of the beautiful restored Modernist interior of 78 Derngate, to see the gorgeous designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Tours of the house were followed by refreshments and canapes in the 78 Derngate atrium, where students were treated to a special announcement by Professor Richard Canning and Dr Sonya Andermahr.
