Organisation Studies Network (OSN) seminar on 9th June

The next Organisation Studies Network (OSN) seminar will be held at Northampton Business School on 9th June 2015 from 12 noon. The OSN includes the University of East London, Keele University, Staffordshire University and the University of Northampton and the group meets regularly to discuss and debate issues around Organisation Studies. The programme on the 9th June includes papers on Research and Writing, Choosing and Trusting in Health and Medicine, Cultures of Mis-selling in the Financial Services Industry and more. Full details of the programme are attached.

ESRC seminar on Youth Mental Health

The University of Greenwich are delivering a series of seminars on Youth Mental Health and Stigma. The first seminar takes place in Nottingham on December 12th and there is a very exciting line up of speakers. The seminars are designed to be of interest to both academics and practitioners.

Invitation to Professor Jeff Ollerton’s “Extinctions of aculeate pollinators in Britain”

In preparation for a conference in Sweden next week, Professor Jeff Ollerton is giving a sneak preview of his 20 minute conference presentation. And he would love some feedback!

“Extinctions of aculeate pollinators in Britain and the role of large-scale agricultural changes” will be held on Wednesday 22nd October at 4pm in Newton NW205, Avenue Campus.

Seminar on end of life care to be held on February 12th

IHWThe Institute of Health and Wellbeing are holding a lunchtime seminar on Wednesday 12th February. Led by Professor Judith Sixsmith and Mei Lan Fang, a Researcher at UoN, the seminar focuses on “End of Life Care: Exploring psychological well-being religious practices and beliefs and support needs of Manchester’s Chinese population.”

Seminar: Collecting and Analysing text and images from Web2.0

Dr Katrina Pritchard and Dr Rebecca Whiting from Birkbeck University and the Open University will be giving an NBS Research Seminar on their use of Web 2.0 data as part of their Age at Work research. This includes the use of blogs, images and text from Google, Nexis, Twilerts etc and will take place in Cottesbrooke C226 on 12th February at 12 noon.

All UN PhD students and members of staff are welcome. We now have a number of people researching the use of social media and this seminar is an ideal opportunity to find out what other researchers are doing and what methodologies they employ.
