Research creativity and leadership workshops in January
The Graduate School are holding a development day for research students next month with experienced trainer & researcher, Dr Adair Richards.
On the 16th January 2014, Adair will present two practical and inspiring workshops, in the morning “Creativity in Research” and in the afternoon, “Leadership and your research career.”

Creativity in research
This engaging and experiential course is aimed at helping you learn academically-verified creativity strategies. It will be of use to anybody who wants to improve their ability to think creatively, see problems from different angles, or use their intuition more effectively. It will introduce a variety of quick and also more structured creativity frameworks that can be applied in many aspects of the postgraduate research process.
Leadership and your research career
This interactive and reflective workshop introduces some key theories on successful leadership in the 21st century and focuses on identifying the key characteristics of effective leaders as well as the barriers to effective leadership within organisations. There will be an emphasis on how leadership development and leadership practice can be applied by the student in their current situation and there will be lots of opportunities for discussion and debate.
