Balloon Kenya

A launch event will take place on Tuesday 10th December 2013 for students who are considering applying for this fantastic opportunity to come along and learn more about the programme which is relevant to students from all academic backgrounds.

BalloonBalloon Kenya connects passionate young people from around the world with budding Kenyan entrepreneurs to launch and grow micro-enterprises that provide jobs and improve lives.

Over the course of a 6 week programme, international volunteers work with carefully selected Kenyan groups to imagine, develop and test business ideas that tackle local social problems. Balloon Kenya then invests in the best of these ideas, providing low interest loans and on-going support to the successful entrepreneurs.

International volunteers then return home empowered with new skills, confidence and knowledge to pursue social change in their own communities.

“The impact on those who have taken part has been incredible and life changing. We have seen individuals who had little idea about their future direction come back from their experience making a real commitment to their future career, understanding the way they want to change the world, and having grown as entrepreneurs and citizens.” – Professor Nick Petford
