graduate-school-workshops940The Graduate School are running a number of presentation skills workshops for research students in 2014. These are theme based, with a specific goal in mind, such as designing an effective poster or getting the best out of conferences.

The Pre-Transfer Development Day is for students who are between registration and transfer and will be held on the 28th January. Getting the Best out of Conferences will run from 11am-1pm. There are only two places left so be quick! Click on the link above to book (email Simone if you don’t wish to attend the whole day).

Holly Smith, from Communication, PR and Public Affairs, is running Communicating with the Media on the 27th January from 12-2pm. In this, she will look at effective presentation skills.

Conference audienceThere will be a Poster Design and Presenting workshop running on March 3rd from 3-5.30pm.

The Graduate School Poster competition will be held on May 7th from 10am-2pm so, calling all UN research students, please keep this date in mind if you wish to present a poster! Our Annual Conference will be held on June 26th, where you will also have an opportunity to present a paper. More about these two events nearer the time.

Simone is also planning to offer a practical presentation skills workshop where, in a small group, students will be captured on video giving a 5-minute presentation. Supportive and constructive feedback will be given as a small group or on a 1-1 basis if preferred. Interested students, please email her!
