The British Library, eLife and Europe PMC have just announced the latest round of ‘Access to Understanding’, a science writing competition for PhD students and early career post-doctoral researchers who are interested in promoting understanding of biomedical research.

sciencewritinglogoWhat you have to do: write a plain English summary of one of 12 published research articles (all are available from Europe PMC).  You’ll need to explain the research and why it matters to a general reader.

What you can win: the winning entry will be published by eLife and the winner will also receive an iPad.  There are good prizes for second and third places too.
