Job Vacancy: Project Co-ordinator, The University of Northampton Students’ Union
Job Title: P2 Co-ordinator
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week) fixed term contract to 31 July 2015
Salary: £18,523 per annum
Work Base: Avenue/Park Campus/Pavilion or any University of Northampton premises as required
Overall Purpose
The aim of the Students’ Union is to support and enhance the educational, social, cultural and recreational activities, and opportunities of the student body, and also to provide a channel of communication for students with the University, NUS and other bodies.
The purpose of this role is to deliver the P2 (Planet Too) project, funded by the NUS / HEFCE Student Green Fund. See http://www.studentsgreenfund.org.uk for more information about the fund. It is a wide ranging project that builds on the University’s commitment to social value and combines aspects of volunteering and campaigning with social enterprise and employability to engage students in leading change on the campus. It also targets private and community student housing, aiming to reduce the impact on the environment by unnecessary energy consumption.

The vision of the Institute of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education at the University of Northampton is to enable transformational learning experiences through inspirational teaching. Research to practice is central to the Institute’s activities. We are seeking to appoint a full-time Research Assistant to contribute to and coordinate the research, development and consultancy activities of the Institute, internally and externally. The successful applicant will coordinate the Open Northampton project, which focuses on open educational resources and associated practices, and provide administrative support to the Institute of Learning and Teaching.

Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards – Deadline 22 March 2013
The Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards for 2013 offer a fantastic opportunity for students and graduates. The aim of the awards is to offer increased support in the form of funding for young entrepreneurs who have either recently graduated from or who are still studying at Santander Partner Universities. As well as providing cash investment to assist with ideas and business, the winners will also receive valuable press coverage through the recognition received from this initiative.

Beginning teaching in H.E: An Induction for academic staff new to teaching in H.E
It is a requirement of the research degree programme that any research degree students who engage in teaching and assessment at the university undertake formal training offered by the university
The Beginning Teaching in HE programme can be taken by any research degrees student with a teaching commitment in the coming year. It can also be taken by students with no allocated teaching hours but who have an interest in teaching in the future. Careers Fair – 25 October 2012 – Sunley Conference Centre
On Thursday 25 October, the University is hosting a major Careers Fair between 1100-1500 in the Sunley Conference Centre. There are a number of high profile employers attending this event who will be keen to meet our students – including postgraduate researchers. The event provides an ideal opportunity to talk with local and national employers about existing and possible future employment vacancies.
