Lauren Samet to present in Soapbox Science Milton Keynes on Saturday 9th July

Soapbox science 2016From Exeter to Edinburgh, Manchester to Milton Keynes, women scientists will be taking to their soapboxes in popular public spaces such as parks, high streets and beaches to share their passion for science with the public.

University of Northampton research student, Lauren Samet, is taking part in Soapbox Science 2016 in Milton Keynes on Saturday. Soapbox Science is a series of events, organised by Bristol University, where female scientists talk about their research to the general public to get them interested in science and try to break some of the stereotypes that science is a male dominated industry.

Transfer seminar – exploring the lived experiences of tattooed women

Charlotte Dann Images of Research 2014-15You are invited to PhD student Charlotte Dann’s transfer seminar on Tuesday 15th December 2015 at 9am in Cottesbrooke C119 on Park Campus.  Charlotte is based in the Psychology division in the School of Social Sciences and her PhD explores the lived experiences of tattooed women.

Women in Research Network – new blog and Facebook group

The University’s Women in Research Network has started a new blog and Facebook group, which are open to all staff members (not just women).
The network aims to support female researchers, facilitating gender equality, acknowledging the good research work that academic women do, and encouraging equality through engagement in academic activities. All staff members are welcome to get involved with the network.
