This workshop describes some of the tools that may be used to disseminate research to a wider audience.  It will introduce a range of social media, including professional networking tools (e.g. LinkedIn; Academia.edu; ResearchGate; Mendeley), blogs (e.g. Blogger; WordPress) and microblogs (e.g. Twitter).

  1. This was a really good session. I have found myself on Research Gate following this session and hopefully I will use microblogging a bit more as a result. I recommend this session to all the research students for sure!! 🙂


  2. I’ve just come across this post from Phil Bradley – Personal reputation in a social media world.
    Phil writes about the links between social media and authority, and the benefits to be gained career-wise from having a high social media profile. He maintains that whether we like it or not, social media is “where it’s at”. What do you think?
