On Tuesday 27 May, Professor Edmund White, Head of Creative Writing at Princeton University visited the University of Northampton to discuss his life in creative writing from his first novel ‘Forgetting Elena’ to his latest memoir ‘Inside a Pearl: My Years in Paris’ (2014).
Professor White stopped off at Northampton in between appearances at the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts (24 May) and the Southbank Centre, London (27 May). In Newton Grand Hall, Avenue Campus he treated the audience to a reading from his new book published by Bloomsbury, ‘Inside a Pearl’ before being interviewed about his life and approach to literature by Professor Richard Canning (Subject Leader for English, The University of Northampton). After the interview, audience members were given the opportunity to meet Professor White and purchase an autographed copy of his new memoir.
