Resource trial: Photographic Youth Music Culture Archive

PYMCA logoThe Library has just arranged trial access to the Photographic Youth Music Culture Archive (PYMCA).  This extensive resource comprises over 100,000 images of social history and youth culture covering ” fashion, music, art, design, travel, genres, social issues, lifestyles, sports, nightlife, environments, humour and much much more…”.  It also includes text based materials.

The free trial lasts until the end of November.

To access PYMCA:

  • Start at http://www.pymca.com 
  • Click ‘LOGIN VIA YOUR HOME INSTITUTION’
  • Select Organisation ‘University of Northampton’
  • Here you may be offered different login options, depending on the settings on your computer:
    • If there is an option to ‘Go to the Eduserv login page’ then click on it
    • If you are taken to the ‘OpenAthens’ authentication point then click on the link to ‘Alternative login’, click on the + symbol next to ‘Universities’ to expand the list, choose ‘University of Northampton’, then click on ‘Go to the Eduserv login page’
  • At the university single sign-on page you can log in with your normal University details.
