The Graduate School’s New Coaching Programme for PGRs

A student using a laptopThe Graduate School are offering six Postgraduate Research Students the opportunity to have a course of professional performance coaching sessions to support and help them progress in their doctoral studies. If you are a UON Postgraduate Researcher and are interested in applying for these sessions, you have until Friday 29th April to apply. Read on if you are interested….

To apply for the coaching sessions you first need the support of your supervisory team. Then you will need to read and fill in the Coaching application form 2022. Please be specific about your needs – read the guidelines carefully in the application form. Please also read the document “Are you ready to be coached“. A panel will choose six successful students to go forward for the coaching opportunity.

The coaching will consist of four 45 minute sessions, online, facilitated by experienced coach, Dr Kate Mahoney. Kate is an independent consultant with specialist experience in coaching and supporting researchers – you can read more about her in the application form above. During the confidential coaching sessions you will be positively challenged and encouraged to work on your specific target, agree actions and identify unhelpful thought patterns. There will be work for you to do between sessions, so please don’t apply if you are not able to devote time to your coaching (guidelines on time required are in the application form). This is a golden opportunity for you to maximize your personal potential, fulfil goals and develop your self-awareness. We look forward to your applications!
