Doing Interpretive Qualitative Research: A workshop on 3-4th November
Dr Jane Callaghan will be running a qualitative methodology workshop for the Graduate School next Monday and Tuesday 3-4 November.
There are just a few places left on Jane’s intensive 2-day workshop, which will explore different forms of interpretation in qualitative research, drawing on phenomenological approaches and Interpretive Interactionism to work with a range of textual, visual and spatial materials.
The workshop is open to any student currently registered on a research degree programme or any Early Career Researchers at the University of Northampton. If you are interested in attending please book here.
Publishing Academic Articles: A workshop by SRHE
SRHE, the Society of Research into Higher Education, has a training programme aimed at newer researchers; those who are studying for a doctorate and early career researchers.
On 12th November, Dr Karen Smith from the University of Greenwich and Ian White from publisher Routledge, Taylor and Francis will be running a workshop entitled “Publishing Academic Articles: A Way Through the Maze“. The workshop will be held at SRHE’s London headquarters in Collier Street.

University of the Arts London is holding a one day conference on Research Data Management in Art and Design – ‘Where are we now?’
The conference will be an opportunity to learn about how data management is being addressed in the unique fields of Art and Design from the perspectives of the Arts and Humanities Research Council, University Research and Data Managers, and the Researchers themselves.

The 2014 Peggie Kellam Memorial Lecture takes place on Thursday 6 November at Sunley Conference Centre.
This year, Professor David Hands will explore issues of stress, care and compassion in the workplace, particularly the NHS, informed by his extensive research and significant operational experience in health service policy and development.

Invitation to Professor Jeff Ollerton’s “Extinctions of aculeate pollinators in Britain”

Nick Dimmock, Research Information Specialist in Research Support, LLS, will be running “Finding Resources on the Web” on Thursday, 30 October 2014 from 11:00 to 13:00 in the TPod, Rockingham Library, Park Campus.
Open to all research students and early career researchers, the workshop will focus on ways to ensure the information you find is useful and usable.
