Research Support Centre – Coffee Morning
For those of you based at Avenue, you’ll be pleased to know we are hosting our next Coffee Morning in the Newton Café on Wednesday, 21st March.
Helen Backhouse from the RSB team will be joined by Dr Ali Al-Sherbaz, Research Leader for FAST and Dawn Hibbert, Head of Research Support, LLS. They will be on hand to help with any specific research issues from the FAST academics and answer any questions you may have on REF 2021 and Impact. Or perhaps you need some advice on a funding application or guidance on our Gateway Haplo Funding system. Drop in anytime between 10.30am-12pm. Tea and coffee along with nice biscuits will be on offer.

Facilitated Writing Retreat Workshops
Following the very positive feedback we got after our first facilitated writing retreat ran last December, The Graduate School is organizing another 5 week programme on structured writing retreats with mini-workshops. Whether you are in an early stage of your research or you are writing up your final thesis, you are warmly invited to come along to this very friendly and supportive environment, have some free lunch and get your research thoughts and ideas written!

English & Creative Writing are hosting a REF Impact Workshop on February 14th with Professor Philip Martin (Emeritus Professor, Sheffield Hallam University, educational consultant with the HEA).
All are welcome at the workshop, which will take place in room MR5, Avenue Campus from 2-4pm.

Grounded Theory Forum, 06 February 2018, Sulgrave S017

Alasdair Gordon-Finlayson will be leading a discussion on ‘Theoretical sampling’ on Tuesday 6th Feb at 1pm in Sulgrave S017. This is a great opportunity for researchers using GT to learn more about this important key component of grounded theory. The Graduate School has invited Dr Neil Raven to run a workshop for our postgraduate researchers on reflective practice and the research process: collecting and analysing qualitative data.
The workshop will take place on 16 Jan 2018, from 09:15 to 16:00 in MY120 , Avenue campus. Any postgraduate researcher interested can book on Gateway.

GRANTfinder 4 Education is a database that the University of Northampton subscribes to giving a range of funding information and opportunities.
Whether you are a new user or have had an account for a while, come along to this workshop to get tips and advice about how to make the most of your Grantfinder4Education login. Facilitated by Karen Lewis, Bidding Manager for the Research and Strategic Bidding Office, this session is an interactive workshop. Computers will be provided or feel free to bring along your laptop.
