Meeting funders’ open access requirements – your views needed

NorthUni277Would you like to be submitted to the next REF?

Are you likely to bid for Research Council funding?

If the answer to either of those questions is ‘Yes’ then you may already know that you will be expected to publish your research articles, and maybe even your data, in an ‘open access’ manner (HEFCE, RCUK) .

But do you know how to go about doing this? Do you have any concerns about it? Do you need any help?

These are some of the questions that will be addressed in a focus group on Friday 19th September, from 11am to 1pm (including lunch).

As part of some work we are doing for the JISC-supported OA Pathfinder project, ‘Open to Open Access’, we would very much like to hear about your experiences of open access publishing and open data. The findings of the focus group will be used to inform future services for researchers here at Northampton and a better understanding of researchers’ needs across the sector.

I know it is a busy time for everyone, but if you could manage an hour’s chat you’ll be rewarded with a free lunch and the chance to find out more about this significant issue.

To take part in the focus group please email me at NECTAR@northampton.ac.uk.  Many thanks.
