Workshop: Finding Resources on the Web
Nick Dimmock, Research Information Specialist in Research Support, LLS, will be running “Finding Resources on the Web” on Thursday, 30 October 2014 from 11:00 to 13:00 in the TPod, Rockingham Library, Park Campus.
Open to all research students and early career researchers, the workshop will focus on ways to ensure the information you find is useful and usable.
LLS Advisory Panel – new members wanted
LLS is reconvening this important group and it would be great to have representation from research students. The group meets online via a NILE forum so you can contribute as and when it suits you.
You don’t even have to contribute to every discussion – just add your opinions on things that matter to you. Only by hearing from research students can LLS ensure its services are meeting your needs.
Chris Powis, Head of Library and Learning Services, explains:
Africa Research Centre
Kevin Deane (NBS) is leading an initiative to create a new research centre – the Africa Research Centre – which is intended to be a university-wide collaboration to help showcase our research on Africa, build an external identity, help with funding bids, host external speakers and provide a forum for cross-disciplinary work, as well as involving our many students across the university who are interested in African issues.
If you are involved in research in or about Africa and are interested in joining the discussion about creating the Africa Research Centre, please email Kevin (kevin.deane@northampton.ac.uk) who will be able to give you more information.
