Learning and Teaching Conference 2015: Call for examples
Northampton’s Learning and Teaching Conference 2015 will take place on the 21st May 2015 in the Sunley Conference Centre at Park Campus. The Conference focuses on the theme of enhancing quality at Northampton: initiatives and perspectives on teaching, learning and assessment. The main keynote will be given by Prof Rhona Sharpe, Oxford Brookes University.
The Conference’s Call for Examples of Good Practice is now open until Friday 13 February 2015.

Call for Papers: The Psychology of Emotion – A new student conference
Four doctoral students from the School of Psychology have been awarded funding from the UN Innovation Fund to run a student conference entitled Exploring the Nature of Emotion and Feeling; Critical Issues and Future Directions in Emotion and Feeling Based Research.
The conference will be held on April 8th 2015. Aiming to provide a friendly and welcoming environment where students can explore the nature of emotion and feeling, it aims to critically consider how this shapes our understanding of emotion today. Key themes in emotion and feeling based literature will be examined, providing students will the opportunity to consider future directions of research in this area.
A call for papers and posters has been announced for doctoral students to participate, with the first call for papers deadline 30th November. Final date for submissions February 15th 2015.
Research active: Library and Learning Services conference
Featuring a keynote address from Professor Charles Oppenheim, recently appointed Visiting Professor to LLS, the second biennial LLS conference will showcase the research activity that underpins our services. It will be packed with new ideas to inform teaching and learning pedagogy and to facilitate engagement with innovative technologies.
Recognising that people have many other calls on their time, this year we’d like to encourage academic colleagues to attend either part or all of the day.
Call for papers: Travel and the country house: places, cultures and practices

Travel has long played a vital role in shaping the country house, opening up horizons and exposing both house and owner to a variety of external influences. Travel impacted upon values, tastes, material culture and money, and helped to articulate the flow of ideas, information, goods and capital. The importance of the Grand Tour and Empire to the country house has long been recognised, but domestic tourism and travel for more mundane purposes – to visit family or friends, engage in political life or go to town – were also significant. In this conference, we wish to explore a wide range of travel experiences and consider how these impacted on the country house.

“4D Research: Early experiences of Designing, Debating, Doing and Disseminating Social Research” aims to bring together post-graduate researchers from a variety of disciplines to facilitate shared critical engagement with the various obstacles and opportunities of the PhD process.

School of Education’s 5th Annual Research Student Conference – call for papers & posters

Are you a UN postgraduate research student? If so, you are invited to submit an abstract for the School of Education’s 5th Annual Research Student Conference, 27th & 28th June. The theme for the conference is ‘Researching Learning, Learning to Research’ and PhD students are invited to make presentations or posters about work pertaining to an educational theme.
Supervisors are also invited to report on their research in the form of posters.
UCL English Graduate Conference: Transformations – Call for Papers
Over the past century the study of English literature has undergone vast transformations, prompting academics and writers to re-evaluate the concept of the ‘canon’, examine practices of reading, and consider the cultural impact of texts and criticism.
This year’s UCL English Department graduate conference seeks to explore the nature of transformation and the many possible meanings this can hold for the wide diaspora of text production and consumption.
All PGR students are invited to submit papers for consideration. Please submit abstracts (max. 250 words) for 15 minute papers to transformations.ucl@gmail.com by 1st April. For more information, visit http://ucl-transformations.tk/.
