Researcher Links Workshop on Eco Food Supply Chains: Exploring Industrial Ecosystems to Minimize Food Waste and Maximize Social Benefits
The Business School is now inviting researchers from the UK and Brazil to apply to attend this workshop which will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 24th to 26th August 2015. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Researcher Links programme. The application form, with more details on the initiative, is available for downloading from http://www.northampton.ac.uk/research/business-and-management-studies (scroll to the bottom of the page).
The deadline for application form submissions in both countries is 15th June 2015 and candidates will be notified about the submission result by 30th June 2015.
CALL FOR PAPERS for ‘There and Back Again’: An Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Symposium
If you are a postgraduate research student you might be interested in a Symposium exploring the richness of travel in its multivalent forms, from antiquity to beyond in relation to social, political, cultural, and environmental forces. The symposium will be held on 22nd June 2015 at the University of Nottingham.

PGR Student Poster Competition 2015: Last call for entry forms!
The Graduate School are holding their 10th Annual Poster Competition on Wednesday 13th May 2015, open to all doctoral students. We are offering a first prize of £100, and two second prizes of £75 – it’s an excellent opportunity for you to illustrate and discuss your research. The competition will be held in Newton hall at Avenue Campus so you must be free to present your poster between noon and 3pm on the 13th.
If you are interested you have until Tuesday 21st April 2015 to return the Entry Form, which secures your place in the competition. Please note that you have until the morning of the 12th May to produce and print your final poster, as you will be required to hang it at the venue on the 12th May 3-5pm. The competition has its own Rules of Entry, to which students must adhere in order to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Organisation Studies Network (OSN) seminar on 9th June

The next Organisation Studies Network (OSN) seminar will be held at Northampton Business School on 9th June 2015 from 12 noon. The OSN includes the University of East London, Keele University, Staffordshire University and the University of Northampton and the group meets regularly to discuss and debate issues around Organisation Studies. The programme on the 9th June includes papers on Research and Writing, Choosing and Trusting in Health and Medicine, Cultures of Mis-selling in the Financial Services Industry and more. Full details of the programme are attached.

Graduate School Workshops in spring and summer
A variety of researcher development workshops are coming up in the next few months, so if you are a PGR student or an early career researcher why not take advantage and book a place? They include Qualitative Data Analysis Using NVivo: Level 2 (Intermediate) on April 14th, Poster Design & Presenting on April 16th and the first of a series of four intermediate SPSS workshops on April 27th. A Publishing Day on April 29th, features workshops in Academic Writing for Journals, Blogging for Researchers and Getting Published. All these workshops are open to both PGR students and early-career researchers.
Solely for PGR students we are running a ‘Finishing your Thesis’ afternoon on April 22nd, which includes Editing and Finishing your Thesis and Preparing for the Viva. So if you are within a year of completing your doctorate this will be a valuable afternoon to attend. Read the rest of this entry
