Last chance to enter “Images of Research” event!
The UN Graduate School has just launched its first Images of Research event by inviting postgraduate research students, researchers and supervisors to submit an image which captures the essence of their research in a visual, artistic or photographic way.
All images submitted before the closing date of October 31st 2013 will be displayed on November 20th, at Avenue Art Gallery from 5-6:30pm – all invited. They will then travel to both campuses, finally resting in the corridor of the new Graduate School home in the Avenue Research Centre.
The first Images of Research is not a competition, there will be no judging, but there are a few guidelines for interested researchers. Images can be photos or artwork but must be unique, having been photographed or created by the researcher. They must also feature a snappy title and a 150 word (max) summary paragraph. Working within or developing successful interdisciplinary collaborations, research groups or supervisory relationships is at the heart of professional development for scientists today. At stake here are innovation, societal and research impact of science, as well as the research efficiency, motivation, inspiration, fulfillment, employability and well-being of researchers.
Vitae presents an intensive two-day professional development and Collaborative Learning Lab for scientists on
Thursday 17 & Friday 18 January 2013 in Oxford. The event will offer cutting edge insights and hands-on tools in building effective and fulfilling collaborations, research groups and knowledge-exchange partnerships.
This Collaborative Learning Lab is particularly suitable for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and principal investigators who work within groups or some form of supervisory relationships, or with colleagues from other disciplines, sectors or institutions. Read the rest of this entry
Blogwatch: UoN researchers at SCAPE 2012
Jeff Ollerton reports from SCAPE 2012, the annual meeting of the Scandinavian Association of Pollination Ecologists, which included presentations from André Rodrigo Rech and Stella Watts of the university’s Landscape and Biodiversity Research Group.
Jeff’s post, barely two days old, is already prominent in various Google searches relating to the conference, and demonstrates how a blog can be a valuable tool for disseminating your research work, activity and interests.
